Owls on Overtime

As the nights get longer, and the weather gets colder, numbers of mice and voles fall dramatically. The animals which feed on
them, especially birds of prey, now need to spend longer hours hunting for a good meal.
In November it's possible to catch sight of the Barn owl, even before darkness settles over the countryside. It's ghostly white form flies silently around the
edges of fields on the lookout for any unsuspecting small mammals.
